Cairn’s sales collaboration with optical filter manufacturer Chroma Technology and their 89North subsidiary, in which Cairn officially represents these Companies in Europe and 89North distributes Cairn products in North America, has already substantially increased Cairn’s North American presence. Cairn’s President, Dr. Martin Thomas, says “We’ve been looking for this type of collaboration for years, and in Chroma and 89North we’ve found the ideal partner. Both our organisations are free of any outside investment, which allows us to plan together for the longer term. Our collaboration is now extending into new product development, for which there will be some exciting announcements soon.”
North American Meetings
The first fruits of the joint product development will be shown at shared 89North and Cairn trade stands in the following meetings over the coming months. The season begins for us at the Society for Neuroscience meeting in Chicago, on 17-21 October. Next is the American Society for Cell Biology in San Diego, on 12-16 December. And in the New Year we’ll be at Photonics West in San Francisco, on 13-18 February, closely followed by the Biophysical Society meeting in Los Angeles, on 27 February-2 March. All these trade stands will be staffed by both 89North and Cairn personnel, so we hope we can see some of you there. Cairn’s established products, including our Optosplit image splitter range, TwinCam and MultiCam camera adapters, Optospin fast filter wheels, and TriLine and MultiLine laser light sources, can of course be seen there too.
