(1) Install MicroManager from install executable.
(2) Plug in OptoByte and direct Windows to the OptoByte drivers folder.
(3) Copy mmgr_dal_OptoByte.dll into C:\Program Files\Micro-Manager-1.3
(4) Install Firewire card as per instructions.
(5) Install QCapture suite from executable in this folder.
(6) Connect and switch on camera and let camera install automatically.
(7) Run MicroManager.
EITHER
(8) From MicroManager select "Tools_Hardware Configuration Wizard...."
(9) Follow instructions to add OptoByte and Q Imaging camera.
(10) Set Q Imaging camera as default camera and OptoByte as default shutter.
(11) Ignore the OptoByte error messages.
(12) Exit and restart MicroManager

(13)copy the QClick+OptoByte.cfg into C:\Program Files\Micro-Manager-1.3 and select this configuration on boot up.

(14) Select Tools_Device/Property browser....
(15) Tick "Show shutters" and change the OptoByte-Value to 255. Opening and closing the shutter should now switch on all the OptoByte LEDs.
(16) Flipping the individual 8 bits will control each line independently and change the OptoByte value.
(17) To use the OptoByte for switching on different channels please refer to the sample QClick+OptoByte.cfg file. This file can be opened in Notepad. A sample of the format switching on digital output 1 for FITC is shown below.
