Output Demultiplexer
This module is designed to demultiplex the composite signal received from the primary signal amplifier and provide the separate signals on up to eight channels.
In either our monochromator- or filterwheel-based systems, the signals from our input or PMT amplifiers are likely to represent a repeating series of acquisitions for a number of different fluorescence excitation wavelengths. This module is designed to demultiplex the composite emisssion signal into its up to eight individual components. The outputs are available via the front panel BNC connectors, and also on the internal back plane of the control unit, via which they can be routed to other system modules for further signal processing. If a high density 68-pin interface connection is provided on the rear panel of the control unit, the signals will also be available there. Each output channel carries the most recently acquired signal for its corresponding excitation wavelength, allowing the subsequent data recording system to be operated asynchronously with respect to the signal acquisition. The back plane interconnection system - which is programmable via jumper links on the various modules - allows two sets of detected signals (referred to as A and B) to be transferred between modules by default, although other configurations are also possible. .
