Our established Cairn tradition of only employing people whom we've met in various local hostelries has been under some pressure in recent years, but we are delighted to announce our return to form in the shape of Edward Finucane. Actually he was already known to some of us, and although we did our best to take their views into account, we decided to take him on anyway.  Let's face it though, with a policy like this, the only way is up, and this is indeed the way things seem to be going, so we definitely welcome his coming on board.  That's is also quite an appropriate expression under the circumstances, as he lives in a houseboat on Faversham Creek (which occasionally even has enough water in it to get the place afloat).  Edward's main interests are in programming, especially to support use of our equipment with third-party hardware and software, but alongside Andew he has also been known to do rather effective battle against the worst which Mr. Gates' little corporation manages to put in the way of us using our own computers - and that really is saying something :)
